2008 - The Year of Enlightenment - BookWise Gets It

All too often, the goodwill and spirit of the holidays are lost once the decorations have been placed away. Those who were so interested in helping those in need, forget about them once they return to their every day hustle and bustle of their lives. It is not that they care less, but that they don't have the time to help.

When I decide to recommend a company to my friends and family, (which is rare), do so only where the company offers something more than just their
product. They have to contribute to the greater good. They have to appreciate that giving back to society means more that offering a quality product. That is a given.

Well without fanfare, the good people at BookWise have expanded their philanthropic practices. Starting in 2008, 1% of all retail sales from the thousands of BookWise Associates in their organization. This is in addition to their donating 10% of all profits to charity. BookWise gets it. When you look to purchasing a book, music cd, movie dvd or video game, wouldn't you prefer to purchase from a company that is committed to giving back to society? Especially since their prices are as good as or better than Amazon or Barnes and Nobel preferred customer program.

As if that isn't enough, BookWise is also going to give each of its customers a free gift each month that they make a purchase from one of their Associates
Bookstores
. Each month anyone making a purchase will receive one of their BookWise 100 Classics. These are some of the very best classic that have defined British and American Literature. Once you make a purchase you will receive the classic in downloadable audio book and ebook. For those who do not want to take the time to read a classic, they will also send you a two page compact classic.

BookWise seems to understand concept that by giving back to the community and to its customers without an ulterior motive, that we will reach out to them and choose to do business with a company that gets it. To support a company with a

BookWise - An Enlightened Company

THE POWER OF ENLIGHTENMENT

All too often the term enlightened company is used to mask the behavior that was less then stellar. This is not the case with BookWise. It is a company that understands that giving is not only rewarding, but creates wealth to the person giving. That is right.... the person who gives will find that they are rewarded not just in a good feeling about what they did, but it will result in a real benefit to them.

I first came to learn about the concept of an enlightened company when taking Robert Allen's One Minute Millionaire and Multiple Streams of Income courses. I was moved by their teachings and decided to create a company built on that principle.

I can tell you that commitment is following through with the promise long after that initial feeling of determination goes away. I remember receiving the first check knowing that I had many absolute necessities to buy to further my business, and remembering the promise I had made. Fortunately, I did the right thing.

I gave 10% of the profits from that sale to the charity I had committed to helping. I remembered wondering if I was crazy not to take care of business first. A funny thing happened within a week, I received a call from a major business owner who saw my donation and was curious as to what my company did (it was a network bartering company). Her niece was afflicted with that particular illness. I explained what we did, how the program worked and that we gave 10% of all profits from the sale to a different charity each month.

Not only did she sign up on the spot, but sent dozens of new clients my way. There was no reason she should have been inspired to call me and question what I did, She really didn't know why she had called, never had before.

This was just one example of many that a genuine gift that had no strings or expectation of being reciprocated resulted in a payback worth far more then the gift itself.

It is with that background that I take great pride in representing a company that is truly enlightened. That walks the walk. That is why....

It was important to the BookWise founders to create an 'enlightened company': one with both moral and social responsibility. Not only is a portion of the proceeds from every monthly book donated to charity, but BookWise Corporate donates ten percent of their company profits to charity as well.

This Blog will be a series of post designed to chronicle the enlightened activities and achievement's of BookWise. I will try and keep these blogs short but will be publishing often.
